Thompson resident arrested for carrying air pistol

The Thompson RCMP arrested a 28 year-old man Aug. 6 after he pulled what looked like a handgun out of his pants and showed it to another person near McMunn and Yates on Sation Road. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 2:38 p.m.

The Thompson RCMP arrested a 28 year-old man Aug. 6 after he pulled what looked like a handgun out of his pants and showed it to another person near McMunn and Yates on Sation Road.

Officers were dispatched to the scene around 2:38 p.m. after receiving a weapons compliant and eventually caught up with the suspect at Fas Gas.

There, police discovered that the suspect was only carrying an air pistol that resembled a handgun.

However, he was still arrested for multiple weapons offences, including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to a public place and using an imitation firearm.

The suspect was remanded into custody on Aug. 7.
