Thompson RCMP officers chase down suspect after finding woman who'd been stabbed

Thompson RCMP officers found a woman who had just been stabbed and chased down a suspect July 11.

Police were on patrol near the Thompson Inn around 5:30 p.m. Saturday when they found the injured woman and observed a man running away as they arrived. Officers pursued the man on foot, catching and arresting him a short distance away.

The victim was transported to Thompson General Hospital in stable condition.

A 26-year-old Cross Lake man faces charges including assault with a weapon and aggravated assault as well as resisting arrest and failing to comply with a release order. He was remanded into custody.
