Former Greyhound employee Addie Colbourne joined Thompson Bus in late July and now serves as their operations co-ordinator. On Sept. 6, Colbourne took one of the company’s vehicles for a spin around town to let people know about their upcoming launch date.

With only a few days left to go before they hit the road, Thompson Bus’s official website went live on Sept. 5.

Now, Thompson residents looking to travel to Winnipeg, Gilliam and Cross Lake, and everywhere in between, can view the company’s routes, schedules and pricing all in one digital space.

The website also includes some information about the company itself, including their short history since forming in July 2018 and the kind of buses they currently have in their possession.

However, online ticket booking won’t be available until Sept. 10, when the company officially transitions into their limited service period.

Thompson Bus will shift into providing full bus services in Northern Manitoba on Nov. 1, which is the day after Greyhound Canada shuts down their operations throughout most of Western Canada.

Company representatives are also setting up shop at this year’s Health and Leisure Mart, which is taking place Friday, Sept. 7 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 8 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) at the Gordon Beard Arena.
