Three RCMP cruisers and one RCMP pickup truck were parked in the front drop-off loop of R.D. Parker Collegiate in Thompson around 11 a.m. Feb. 21. The high school was in a hold and secure situation, with no one allowed to enter or leave, for about 90 minutes while police investigated a possible unconfirmed threat against the school.

A message sent out to parents' by school principal Rob Fisher shortly after 11 a.m. said the hold and secure situation was over.

"The possible threat to our school was unfounded and not confirmed," said the message. "We are all clear and resuming as usual. We would like to thank the RCMP for their thorough response and our students' co-operation during the hold and secure.

The hold and secure situation began shortly before 10 a.m.
