A 29-year-old man from Toronto was arrested Jan. 20 on a bus bound for Thompson while in possession of more than 200 oxycodone pills and 142 grams of cocaine.
As part of an ongoing drug investigation, Thompson RCMP, a tactical team and the Manitoba North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team intercepted a northbound bus while it was stopped at a gas station in Grand Rapids just before 3 a.m. to make the arrest.
Mohamud Ahmed Abdi is charged with two counts of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of drug trafficking, three counts of failure to comply with court orders and one count of obstruction of justice. He was remanded into custody and RCMP continue investigating.
