One woman and one man arrested for cocaine trafficking after search at Burntwood Hotel

A man and a woman* from Winnipeg were arrested Aug. 2 after Thompson RCMP searched their hotel room and found cocaine.

Police discovered about two dozen flaps of cocaine weighing about 16 grams collectively when they executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a room in the Burntwood Hotel around 4:15 p.m. Sunday. Plastic baggies and a cutting agent used to dilute cocaine were also seized.

*The original version of this story said the two suspects arrested were both women. Thompson RCMP later corrected the information they provided, as the 25-year-old arrested is a man.
