Seven drivers caught using handheld cell phones during a Manitoba Public Insurance-sponsored traffic enforcement blitz in Thompson April 12 received tickets as well as 72-hour driving suspensions, Thompson RCMP say.
During the enforcement campaign, which also targeted seatbelt use, eight tickers were issued for failing to use a seatbelt. There were also 11 other driving infractions, including driving an unregistered vehicle, speeding in a school zone, failing to stop at a stop sign, a learner’s licence holder driving without a supervising driver and driving with a suspended licence.
