On April 11, members of the Northern Regional Health Authority (NRHA) organized their annual luncheon at the Royal Canadian Legion to pay tribute to their volunteers in the Thompson region.

According to NRHA communications co-ordinator Twyla Storey, approximately 17 volunteers were officially recognized at this event for their work at the Thompson General Hospital and Northern Spirit Manor.

To coincide with National Volunteer Week, the NHRA also put together similar events in Flin Flon, The Pas and Snow Lake April 8-10.

“We’re very proud of the volunteers that we have right across the region,” said Storey. “Because without our volunteers a lot of our residents may not be able to get out or some of the programs happening wouldn’t be able to take place.”
