On Aug. 3, Earl Colbourne put together a small fundraiser at the Northern Inn and Steakhouse, with all the generated funds going towards purchasing a pet-friendly bathtub for the Thompson Humane Society.

The business owner ended up raising a total of $156 for the cause through selling 78 hamburgers, with $2 from every purchase going towards the humane society.

Colbourne, a self-professed animal lover, originally approached humane society chairperson Oswald Sawh with the idea for this fundraiser and the pair is already planning a follow-up event for early September.

The Thompson Humane Society also received a donation recently from the Thompson Veterinary Clinic, which handed over money raised by participating in the Community Clean-Up to go toward ongoing renovations at the Thompson Humane Society building.
