An SUV driver who struck a pickup truck at the intersection of Mystery Lake Road and Thompson Drive North Aug. 18 was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to stop at a red light.
The collision, which didn’t cause any injuries, occurred around 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
This wasn’t the only traffic-related incident Thompson RCMP dealt with over the weekend.
Just before 2 a.m. Aug. 18, RCMP received a report of an impaired driver in the Trapper’s Tavern parking lot and arrested a 35-year-old woman for failing to comply with a roadside screening device demand. She was released to appear in court at a later date.
On Aug. 17, police were dispatched to the Safeway parking lot around 4 p.m. after receiving an impaired driver complaint. A 37-year-old-man from Thicket Portage failed a roadside sobriety test and was arrested for impaired driving. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
Thompson RCMP received 105 service calls Aug. 17-18 and lodged 45 prisoners in that same space of time. From Aug. 12-18, police received 411 calls for service.
