While at times it may be hard to believe, spring is just around the corner and that means one thing that many of us dread – spring cleaning. While it is a necessary part of household maintenance, all of the mess and clutter that accumulates over the winter can be a pain in the neck, but have no fear! The Thompson Public Library can help you with your spring cleaning woes. Among the ample resources we have in the library, we have an entire section on cleaning and organization for your convenience.

If you have no idea where to start with your spring cleaning, come into the library and check out our selection. If you are generally bad at cleaning and think some instruction would do you a world of good – come in and check out our selection. If you have a Pinterest board that is full of organizational tips that you’ve never tried because you are too busy on Pinterest – come in and check out our selection. If while you’re reading this you thought to yourself, “I’m supposed to clean every spring?” – come in and check out our selection. If this is your first spring in your first home away from your parents – come in and check out our selection.

While you’re cleaning, if you come across books, CDs, movies or magazines that you no longer want in your house, bring them into the library and we’ll take them off of your hands! When donations come in, sometimes we catalogue them and add them to our collection, but often we put them on our sales shelf to have a chance at a new home. In the case of magazines we often use them for crafts for Story Time. We accept donations any time that the library is open, and you can just bring them to the front desk and we will gladly accept them.

As always, it’s easy to get a library card, all you need to do is come into the library with something with your Thompson address (driver’s licence, Manitoba health card, piece of mail, etc.) and children under 16 must be signed up by a parent or guardian.

Spring cleaning can be a challenge, and when all else fails you can come to the library and find a book to take your mind off of the amount of cleaning you have to do. Whether you’re into novels, biographies, true crime, instructional, comic books, comedies, e-books, audiobooks or anything in between – the library has you covered. Come in and check out our collection.
