Around 190 children converged on the Thompson Regional Community Centre’s north parking lot June 8 for this year’s Touch a Truck fundraiser.
After their parents paid an admission fee, these kids were give full rein to interact with a variety of heavy-duty vehicles, including backhoes, a fire truck, loaders, bulldozers and even the city’s Zamboni.
Event organizer Amanda Smook said they managed to raise a grand total of $1,800, which will be donated to Kiddies Northern Preschool.
