Ford dealership owners expanding onto two vacant properties

Thompson city council unanimously approved a pair of resolutions Sept. 3 that will pave the way for the owners of Thompson Ford to expand their operation onto properties on Station Road and Moak Crescent.

Thompson city council unanimously approved a pair of resolutions Sept. 3 that will pave the way for the owners of Thompson Ford to expand their operation onto properties on Station Road and Moak Crescent.

The first resolution was to approve automotive equipment sale and repair as a conditional use at 35 Station Rd. and 55 Moak Cres., which are in the commercial downtown 2 zone.

Following approval of that, councillors greenlit the sale of 55 Moak Crescent to Triple K Properties for the price of $100,000 plus GST. That is the first step in the establishment of an automotive dealership, said city manager Anthony McInnis.

“It will be followed by a development agreement once more detailed plans are provided,” he said.

Coun. Les Ellsworth said Thompson Ford’s plans were exciting for the city.

“That’s one of hopefully many more to come,” he said.
