Firearm related to July 6 shooting recovered by Thompson RCMP

Thompson RCMP recovered a gun in the Burntwood area July 17 that is connected to a July 6 shooting on Beaver Crescent that sent one man to hospital.

Thompson RCMP responded to that incident around 1 p.m. July 6 and the victim was transported to Thompson General Hospital in stable condition.

Two men, aged 33 and 35, were arrested later that day on Red River Drive in connection with the shooting and face multiple charges. 

Thompson RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen a white Dodge Dart in the Deerwood area or the occupants of a grey minivan on Manasan Drive around 1 p.m. on the day of the shooting or who has private video surveillance of vehicles matching those descriptions to call the Thompson RCMP detachment at 204-677-6909 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.

Thompson RCMP continue to investigate the shooting with assistance from the Manitoba North District Forensic Identification Section.
