After raising $156 for the Thompson Humane Society during an Aug. 3 fundraiser, Northern Inn and Steakhouse owner Earl Colbourne managed to generate more than nine times that original amount in a follow-up event Sept. 13.

Colbourne and cook Mary Lee Spiess spent five hours serving up hotdogs, hamburgers and cold drinks outside the Northern Inn and ended up receiving $1,418.30 for their effort.

Just like last time, all of this money is going to the humane society so that they can buy a new bathtub for animals.

In order to fulfill his original $2,100 funding goal, Colbourne wants to organize a third fundraising event sometime in the not-too-distant future.
