A driver without a driver’s licence was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving while attempting to leave the Trapper’s Tavern parking lot on Saturday afternoon and later provided breath samples with more than twice the legal limit of blood alcohol content.

Thompson RCMP were alerted to a potential impaired driver around 3:20 p.m. June 6 and arrested a 43-year-old woman from Thompson upon arriving at the scene. They determined she had no driver’s licence, took her to the detachment for a breathalyzer test and she was later released to appear in court at a future date.

Thompson RCMP also issued a 90-day driver’s licence prohibition to a Thompson man stopped on Highway 6 June 5. Police were informed of a suspected impaired driver on Highway 6 near Pisew Falls. The vehicle was located near the Paint Lake turnoff and police obtained a breath sample using a roadside screening device,  which resulted in the suspension of his licence and the impounding and towing of his vehicle.
