Police on patrol on Cree Road saw the vehicle go through a stop sign and hit a snowbank near the intersection of Cree Road and Juniper Drive around 9 p.m. Friday. They attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver continued at slow speed along Juniper Drive, Thompson Drive and Deerwood Drive, failing to obey more traffic signs as he did so.

When the vehicle finally stopped on Martin Bay, the 23-year-old driver from Split Lake displayed signs of drug impairment and was arrested. He faces multiple Highway Traffic Act charges as well as charges of breaching a court order, taking a vehicle without consent and obstructing a police officer. Impaired driving charges are also pending and he was remanded into custody pending a court appearance.
