Cops seize illicit cash and bear spray during traffic stop near Pisew Falls

Two Thompson residents are facing driving, weapons and proceeds of crime charges after being stopped by Thompson RCMP near Pisew Falls. The traffic stop took place around 3 a.m. Oct. 7 on Highway 6 south of Thompson.

Two Thompson residents are facing driving, weapons and proceeds of crime charges after being stopped by Thompson RCMP near Pisew Falls.

The traffic stop took place around 3 a.m. Oct. 7 on Highway 6 south of Thompson. Police searched the vehicle, finding a can of bear spry and cash believed to have been obtained by crime.

A 32-year-old man faces charges for driving while disqualified under the Highway Traffic Act as well as possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possessing property obtained by crime. A 19-year-old woman faces charges of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possessing property obtained by crime.

Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.
