ATV driver without helmet stopped by police faces impaired driving charge

A helmetless all-terrain vehicle driver was arrested by Thompson RCMP on Cree Road June 23. Police on patrol spotted the ATV around 6:45 p.m. and initiated a traffic stop.

A helmetless all-terrain vehicle driver was arrested by Thompson RCMP on Cree Road June 23.

Police on patrol spotted the ATV around 6:45 p.m. and initiated a traffic stop. The 33-year-old Thompson man showed signs of alcohol impairment and failed a roadside screening test. Breath samples that he provided later were over the legal limit of blood alcohol content while operating a motor vehicle.

The driver was released to appear in court at a later date.
