The Thompson Fire & Emergency Services (TFES) fire hall was transformed into a mess hall and a photo studio during the department’s celebration of its 60th anniversary Sept. 28. An estimated 600 or more attendees were treated top a pancake breakfasts, free pizza, bouncy houses and the opportunity to blast a fire truck’s horn like Jase Amarok ferom Rankin Inlet, Nunavut did. Current members of TFES posed with past members, including former chiefs John Maskerine and Ian Thompson, for a group photo. The celebrations began with a gathering of current and former members and spouses at the fire hall Sept. 27 and ended with the Firefighters’ Ball at St. Joseph’s Hall Sept. 28.
