Woman arrested in Wasagamack for impaired driving causing death

A 39-year-old woman was arrested in Wasgamack for impaired driving causing death after a 45-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed Oct. 15.

Island Lake RCMP were called to a report of an unresponsive man in an outdoor area in Wasagamack around noon Oct. 15. The man was taken to the nursing station where he was pronounced dead.

RCMP Major Crime Services, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and an RCMP collision reconstructionist travelled to Wasagamack to assist in the investigation and determined that the man’s death was the result of being hit by a vehicle. Further investigation led them to arrest the female suspect.
