Teens arrested after man shot in the face with a pellet gun in The Pas

The Pas RCMP arrested three teenaged males Aug. 25 after a man was shot multiple times in the face with a pellet gun. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., when an adult male was approached by three youths who asked him for a cigarette.

The Pas RCMP arrested three teenaged males Aug. 25 after a man was shot multiple times in the face with a pellet gun.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., when an adult male was approached by three youths who asked him for a cigarette. When he didn’t give them one, the youngest one shot the man in the face about five times with a pellet gun, at which point the suspects fled to the rear of The Pas Legion, where the victim caught up with them. RCMP officers arrived soon after and arrested three males aged 13, 16 and 16, all of whom were under the influence of alcohol. A search fo the area turned up three pellet handguns and numerous carbon dioxide cartridges.

The suspects were remanded into custody pending a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 26. Thew two older youths are facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. The 13-year-old faces the same charges along with charges of careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm and failing to comply with a release order.

The Pas RCMP continue to investigate.
