A 17-year-old male in Oxford House was killed Sept. 4 when he was run over by a vehicle while lying on the road.

Oxford House RCMP were called to the scene of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on the community’s main road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Investigation determined that a vehicle being driven by a 16-year-old female struck the teen, who police believe was lying on the road at the time. The driver stopped and immediately contacted the RCMP and the victim was pronounced dead after being transported to the nursing station.

Alcohol and speed are not believed to have been factors in the collision, said RCMP, who continue investigating.

Anyone with information on the collision can contact Oxford House RCMP at 204-538-2046.
