St. Theresa Point woman’s body found near lake shoreline one day after she was reported missing

Woman had not been seen since May 18 and preliminary autopsy results indicate her death was not suspicious

The body of a 23-year-old woman from St. Theresa Point who had not been seen since May 18 was discovered by the shoreline of a lake shortly before 9 p.m. June 1.

An autopsy was conducted and preliminary results indicate that the woman’s death was not suspicious, RCMP say.

The woman had been reported missing to RCMP around 5 p.m. the day before her body was found and police began an investigation.

Island Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
