Rock-throwing break-and-enter suspect assaults RCMP officer in Gods Lake Narrows

An RCMP officer was assaulted and injured by a man in Gods Lake Narrows who threw a rock at a police vehicle May 2.

RCMP were responding to an assault around 9:15 p.m. Thursday night after two men forced their way into a home and attacked the 38-year-old resident. They then fled on foot and one of them threw a large rock at an RCMP vehicle patrolling the area. The officer stopped the vehicle and was assaulted by the man, who was arrested after more officers arrived.

Mark Clifton Ross, 27, of Gods Lake Narrows, is charged with assault causing bodily harm on a police officer, resisting arrest, breaking and entering with intent and three counts of failing to comply with court-ordered conditions. Twenty-nine-year-old Roger White of Gods Lake Narrows was arrested later that day and is facing charges of breaking and entering with intent and three counts of failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.

RCMP are still investigating.
