Two Thompsonites -- Robert Locke and Nicole Loke - are facing drug trafficking charges after allegedly being busted with $70,000 worth of crack cocaine.

On May 29, at about 1 p.m., Thompson RCMP seized about 10 ounces of crack cocaine during a traffic stop of a northbound SUV on Highway 6 north of Wabowden near Sasagiu Rapids, estimated at about $70,000, says Sgt. Line Karpish, an RCMP media spokesperson based in Winnipeg.

Locke, a 31-year-old Thompson male, and Loke, a 24-year-old Thompson female, were arrested during the traffic stop and have been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both have been released on bail recognizances to appear in Thompson provincial court Aug. 27.
