RCMP officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Norway House June 19, seizing a small amount of cocaine, a firearm, cash and drug-related paraphernalia.

Two 15-year-old males and a 16-year-old male were arrested and remain in police custody. RCMP are also searching for a 49-year-old female in relation to this seizure. Charges that the four suspects face include possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The search warrant was executed by officers from the Norway House and Thompson detachments, alongside the Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, Police Dog Services and the Emergency Response Team.

"To effectively and safely execute this search warrant, specialized units such as the Emergency Response Team were used to minimize the risk to the police officers, the public and the suspects,” said Manitoba RCMP north district commander Supt.Kevin Lewis. “The result of this investigation is one less illegal firearm on the street and the disruption of a drug trafficking operation. Another great example of the commitment of our officers to remove illicit drugs and illegal guns from the communities we serve in Northern Manitoba."

Norway House RCMP continue to investigate.
