A 21-year-old Norway House man is charged with assault and forcible confinement after allegedly locking four people in a shed and using bear spray on them.

Norway House RCMP responded to a disturbance at a home around 7:30 a.m. Sept. 20 and heard screaming and calls for help when they arrived. The noise was coming from a locked shed and officers broke open the door to free a 49-year-old male and three females aged 24, 28 and 35. First aid was provided at the scene.

Police believe the four were inside the shed when the suspect locked it and then sprayed bear spray in through the window.

Isaiah Cromarty is charged with four counts each of assault, forcible confinement and administering a noxious substance. He also faces charges of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace and possessing weapons contrary to a court order. He was remanded into custody and Norway House RCMP continue to investigate.
