A 52-year-old man from Norway House was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a northbound vehicle hit his pickup truck on Highway 6 about five kilometres south of Woodlands Aug. 20.

The driver of the other vehicle, an 81-year-old man from Eriksdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stonewall RCMP say the driver of the northbound vehicle tried to overtake another vehicle near Road 79 North just before 5 p.m. and hit the southbound pickup when he pulled out into the oncoming lane of traffic.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Stonewall RCMP and an RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
