A 29-year-old man was arrested March 3 in Moose Lake by RCMP officers responding to complaints of a man walking through the community with a rifle, followed by a report of shots fired.

Moose Lake RCMP received a complaint about a man in an orange-and-black jacket walking with a rifle and then a report that four shots had been heard around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Responding officers did not see anyone walking with a firearm when they arrived at the scene but learned from a neighbour that the shots came from inside a residence on Sesame Street. They saw a man with an orange-and-black jacket carrying two guns through the home’s window and asked him to come outside, which he did. Police seized the guns and ammunition along with empty casings found in the man’s jacket.

Joshua Lambert is charged with discharging a firearm recklessly, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, possessing a firearm while prohibited and unauthorized use of a firearm. He remains in custody and Moose Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
