A medevac plane flying from Winnipeg to Churchill crashed near Gillam Airport while trying to make an emergency landing around 7 p.m. April 24.

The Super King Air 200 aircraft landed on a frozen lake before coming to a stop at the edge of the Gillam Airport’s runway, Gillam RCMP say.

The two pilots and two flight paramedics on board were not injured but were taken to hospital as a precaution. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been informed of the crash.
