Man from Pukatawagan dies after being assaulted and stabbed in Winnipeg

A 47-year-old Pukatawagan man died of stab wounds he received when he was assaulted in Winnipeg Aug. 31.

Darrell Joseph Dumas was found by Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) officers responding to a report of a series assault in the 800 block of Arlington Street. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.

A suspect was arrested by officers in the 400 block of Maryland. Harley Eugene Nepinak, 21, who had a warrant for his arrest at the time he was apprehended,  is charged with second-degree murder. 

The WPS homicide unit continues to investigate Dumas’s death.
