A 32-year-old Gods Lake Narrows man is charged with impaired driving causing death after a collision in Peguis First Nation that killed a 33-year-old woman who was in his vehicle. Peguis RCMP were called to the single-vehicle crash around 2:20 p.m.

A 32-year-old Gods Lake Narrows man is charged with impaired driving causing death after a collision in Peguis First Nation that killed a 33-year-old woman who was in his vehicle.

Peguis RCMP were called to the single-vehicle crash around 2:20 p.m. Nov. 24 and determined that the man was travelling southbound on West Road when he tried to move over to make room for a vehicle approaching in the opposite direction.He lost control of the vehicle, went into the ditch and hit a driveway approach. The female passenger from Fisher River Cree Nation was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A 33-year-old man from Peguis First Nation who was also in the vehicle sustained minor injuries, as did the driver.

Investigation of the accident continues with assistance from an RCMP forensic collision. reconstructionist.
