Five people charged after Cross Lake RCMP seize two kilos of cocaine as well as marijuana, weapons

Four men and one woman were arrested Dec. 2 after Cross Lake RCMP executing a search warrant seized about two kilograms of cocaine, 280 grams of marijuana and weapons including a shotgun.

Four men and one woman were arrested Dec. 2 after Cross Lake RCMP executing a search warrant seized about two kilograms of cocaine, 280 grams of marijuana and weapons including a shotgun.

Assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services and the Manitoba North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, Cross Lake RCMP searched a residence in the New Alberts Lake area of the community around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. In addition to the drugs and weapons, they also seized drug paraphernalia and cash.

Ray Ross, 27, has been charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling under the Cannabis Act, possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe firearm storage and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was remanded into custody.

Three other males, aged 19, 24 and 25, and a 24-year-old woman face the same charges as Ross and were released until they are scheduled to appear in court.

Cross Lake RCMP continue investigating.
