The body of a 20-year-old boater was located in the waters of South Indian Lake July 27 after his boat was found on an isolated shoreline two days earlier.
Leaf Rapids RCMP received a report around 7:15 p.m. July 25 that the man had gone missing. They were told he had gone out on the lake and that his boat had been found empty.
Officers and community members began searching the lake by boat and helicopter and found the man’s body around 9:45 p.m. Saturday.
Leaf Rapids RCMP and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continue to investigate.
