RCMP detachments in Northern Manitoba made arrests related to two separate stabbings that injured three people April 29 and April 30.

South Indian Lake RCMP responded to a report of two people being stabbed during a robbery at a home in O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation around 12:30 a.m. April 29. Two male victims aged 32 and 33 were taken to the nursing station with non-life-threatening injuries. The 32-year-old was later flown out of the community for further treatment.

Jeremiah Spence 21, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, robbery and failure to comply. He was remanded into custody.

Just before 10 p.m. April 30, Leaf Rapids RCMP responded to a stabbing that injured a 37-year-old man. Responding officers provided first aid to the victim until emergency services arrived and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old female who is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

South Indian Lake RCMP and Leaf Rapids RCMP continue to investigate.
