The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (iIU), which looks into incidents involving on- and off-duty police officers in the province, said the RCMP notified it on Feb. 8 about an incident that occurred Jan. 13 regarding unsafe storage of a firearm in the officer’s residence.
