15-year-old charged with attempted murder after another 15-year-old shot in Easterville

One 15-year-old is in hospital and another 15-year-old in police custody after an April 8 shooting in Easterville.

Chemawawin RCMP received a report of a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound around 5:20 a.m. The victim was taken to the nursing station and then to hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

A 15-year-old male from Easterville was arrested and charged with attempted murder with a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm while being reckless and using a firearm in the commission of an offence.

He will remain in custody until a court appearance in The pas April 11.

RCMP are still investigating.
