What do you do for a living?
I’m a production foreman at Vale.
Why do you want to be on the school board again?
Continuity. There’s a few things that we started that I wouldn’t mind seeing them continue. I think I can still make a difference. I’ve been on the finance committee for eight, nine years and I just want to keep going with that. Keep our finances in check and trying to minimalize how much we have to raise taxes if and when we do.
What is the most important educational issue you want to address if elected?
One thing that keeps coming up, you hear it over and over again, is bullying and if I could make a difference and do anything around bullying, whether it be policy or whatever the case may be, I’d like to see that be non-existent and being taken care of.
Why should someone vote for you over the other candidates?
I think I’ve proved myself over the last three terms. The experience is there. I know what to expect going in and I think that means something.
Anything else you want to add?
I wish everybody good luck, everybody that’s running. It’s good to see a turnout. It’s good to see 11 people running for the school board positions, instead of people just going back in without an election.
