The Norman Northstars continued a six-game homestand at the C.A. Nesbitt Arena Feb. 8-9, dropping two games against the Pembina Valley Hawks.
Saturday night’s score was 5-0 for the Hawks, who scored four goals in the third period, erasing any hope of a Northstars’ comeback. Shots on net were 52-29 for the Hawks, a significant imbalance that taxed the Northstars’ goalie.
Sunday afternoon’s game was another lopsided loss for the Northstars, who fell 10-3. Brady Krentz had a first period goal for the Northstars while Ryan Monias put in a fantastic third period effort, scoring two goals. The Hawks had a 55-21 shot advantage over the Northstars, who capitalized on one power play.
The Northstars’ next home games are Feb. 15-16 against the Winnipeg Thrashers.
