Toni Paulic is serving as acting president of the Thompson Minor Hockey Association after former president Troy Steeves submitted his resignation at the June 9 meeting of the board of directors, which accepted his resignation by a vote of 11 to five.

Following the resignation of Steeves, the board moved to discuss the hiring of Diane Platford as executive director, which Steeves notified the members of the outgoing board of by email May 31. The board noted that since the outgoing board had not voted to accept the candidate, the new board would need to ratify the decision. Another issue raised was that the executive director position may no longer be needed if the board position of registrar was filled as required by the TMHA constitution and that the previous board had violated the constitution by not electing a registrar.

Murray Kissick noted that, although the pre-novice director board position is not in the constitution and the registrar is, the board accepted the agenda presented at the annual general meeting, which included pre-novice director as one of the positions open for election but did not include a registrar. He also noted that the previous board voted to approve the position, job description and pay scale and that Platford, the only applicant for the position, abstained from the selection process. Kissick also pointed out that the person in this position would assist everyone in fulfilling their roles.

After discussion, it was decided to table the decision until June 15 and to request that Platford cease doing any type of activities for the TMHA until her position was ratified.

The board voted 14 to three with one abstaining to meet constitutional requirements by posting the registrar position as an unpaid volunteer position.

The directors also passed a motion by a vote of 16 to one to file an article of revival to once again have the TMHA incorporated.
