The city's department of recreation, parks and culture is all set to host this weekend's 17th annual health and leisure mart, which starts Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. and continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, providing one-stop shopping for Thompsonites who want to sign up for fall and winter sports, recreation or cultural activities.

"Things look very good for health and leisure mart," said Bruce Krentz, director of recreation, parks and culture. "We have over 50 presenters, which is up from last year."

Participating organizations will have booths set up in the Gordon Beard Arena as well as in the C.A. Nesbitt Arena lobby.

"UCN will have a display with some information on their proposed development here at the Thompson Regional Community Centre site," said Krentz. "The city will have a display on the new garbage truck and bins."
