Transport Minister was up for the Chamber’s Transportation Symposium. During her visit, she made the formal announcement for the $15M contribution to the re-development of the Thompson Regional Airport. The redevelopment consists of new airport terminal building, water treatment plant, new access road, parking and airside development such as new apron and taxi way. The total cost of the redevelopment is over $125M. We had several funding partners.
The Airport bought the Ford Winter Test Facility in 2022 and rebranded to Area 55. Area 55 is just partnered with UCN to home some of their trades courses such as Heavy Duty Mechanics and Intro to Mechanical Trades.
