Cocaine, powder used to dilute drugs and cash were seized by Thompson RCMP during a traffic stop and search of a hotel room Sept. 18.

Two men from Winnipeg and a woman from Thompson are facing cocaine trafficking charges following a Sept. 18 traffic stop and a subsequent search of a hotel room.

A vehicle being driven by a 36-year-old Winnipeg man was pulled over by officers from the Thompson General Investigative Section, the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services around 10:15 p.m. Saturday night. Two passengers – a 33-year-old man from Winnipeg and a 33-year-old woman from Thompson – were arrested along with the driver for possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and a search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of cocaine and cash.

Police then obtained a search warrant for a hotel room used by the suspects where officers found a white substance used to dilute drugs, a small amount of cocaine and a duffel bag with cash and drug-related paraphernalia.

The three accused were released on a promise to appear in court in Thompson on Nov. 26.

Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.
