An erratic driver stopped on Highway 6 near the Paint Lake junction Jan. 3 had his vehicle towed and impounded for 60 days and is facing an impaired driving charge.
Thompson RCMP spotted the truck, which dashcam video shows serving over the centre line and onto the shoulder, while on patrol around 5 p.m. and pulled it over.
The 48-year old driver smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech and was trying to smoke an unlit cigarette, RCMP say. He was taken back to the Thompson detachment where he provided breath samples that were nearly three times the legal limit while driving.
The driver is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 15.
