Suspect in two Nelson House assaults arrested

RCMP said May 2 that Jerome Wood has been located and arrested on charges relating to two April 4 assaults, one of which was believed to have involved a machete.

RCMP say they have arrested a man wanted in connection with two April 4 assaults.

RCMP said May 2 they have arrested 23-year-old Jerome Wood of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, who was wanted in connection with a pair of assaults that occurred April 4.

Wood was wanted on charges of aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm.

The first assault occurred around 9:25 p.m. April 4 when a 29-year-old man working in his yard was assaulted with what was believed to be a machete. He was taken to the nursing station for treatment of his injuries. 

RCMP learned of the second assault while they were at the nursing station. A 23-year-old man was assaulted outside a business.
