RCMP arrest two teens in connection with fatal July 14 stabbing in Norway House

A second person was stabbed the same night and police believe he had an altercation with the same suspects.

Two teenagers, 16 and 17 years old, were arrested July 18 in connection with a July 14 stabbing in Norway House Cree Nation that killed an 18-year-old.

Norway House RCMP arrested two teenagers in connection with a July 14 stabbing incident that killed an 18-year-old male.

A 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were arrested July 18 and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the 18-year-old’s death. They were remanded into custody until a July 20 court appearance.

Police received a report of a stabbing in the Niskaview area of Norway House Cree Nation around 11:45 p.m. July 14. An 18-year-old resident of the community had been stabbed during an altercation with several suspects and was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries.

While officers were at the hospital, a 17-year-old arrived to seek treatment for stab wounds

Norway House RCMP believe both males were stabbed by the same suspects in the same area of the community.

RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate the stabbings.
