Two people have been charged in connection with the death of a Shamattawa man who has been missing since Aug. 19 and whose remains have yet to be found, RCMP say.

Trout, 41, is charged with second-degree murder while Marisa Redhead, 28, who is related to the alleged victim, is charged with manslaughter. Both have been remanded into custody.

Shamattawa RCMP issued a request via social media Aug. 24 for assistance finding Grant Redhead. Efforts to find his remains are ongoing and searches are focusing on the God’s River.

Police said rumours have been circulating regarding their investigation and that most of them are not factual and are causing distress to the family and making the investigation more difficult.
