Motorcyclist dies on Highway 6 after going into ditch and being flung off bike

A 62-year-old motorcyclist died Sept. 11 after losing control of his motorbike on Highway 6 near Lundar.

A 62-year-old motorcyclist from the Rural Municipality of Coldwell died in a singe vehicle accident on Highway 6 near Lundar Sept. 11, RCMP say.

Lundar RCMP responded to the crash around 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening. A man was receiving medical attention in the ditch when they arrived but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the motorcycle was travelling south and passed another southbound vehicle, then the rider appeared to lose control and the motorbike went into the ditch and the man was tossed off.

An RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist and the RCMP criminal collision investigative team are assisting the ongoing investigation.
