Man stabbed and bear sprayed in Nelson House after attempted robbery

The 46-year-old victim, who is now in hospital in Winnipeg, was attacked by a group of about 10 people on April 20, RCMP say.

Nelson House RCMP are investigating an attempted robbery and assault of a 46-year-old man April 20.

Nelson House RCMP are trying to identify and find a group of about 10 people who stabbed and bear sprayed a man after trying to rob him.

The 46-year-old victim was found injured on Otetiskiwin Drive by a passerby shortly after 11 p.m. April 20. He was taken to the nursing station and later transported to hospital in Winnipeg where he remains in stable condition.

Police who attended the nursing station learned that the man was confronted by a group of males and females who attempted to rob him, When he declined to hand over his belongings, he was attacked.
